Michael Moody

Principal, Architect AIBC, MRAIC, LEED® AP

Michael’s passion for sketching by hand started at a very young age. Since he can remember, he was spending long hours giving form to designs he created in his mind. Fast forward 30 years and his passion for architecture has taken him on an exciting entrepreneurial journey and fulfilling career to become a very well-respected, Award-winning Professional Architect, now based out of beautiful Victoria, BC. Michael has extensive experience in design development, documentation and construction phase services.

As the Principal of MJM Architect Inc., Michael has had the privilege to work on a variety of different project types, from single family homes to brewpubs and distilleries. Having experience with most types of building construction including wood frame, steel, concrete (C.I.P. and tilt-up) and insulated concrete formwork (ICF), Michael is very familiar with project delivery methods such as Select or General Tenders, Design-Build, and Construction Management. A strong proponent of the Integrated Design Process, he consistently demonstrates strong skills in creative and thorough design solutions, deals extremely well with client and user groups, and prides himself on his ability to manage and deliver projects on time and on budget.

Outside of office hours, Michael enjoys sports such as bicycling and skiing, and is an avid bocce player. He also plays piano, does sketching by hand, and loves photography.

Nathalie Thiffault
Senior Building Technologist
MJM Staff Member Nathalie Thiffault

Nathalie Claude Thiffault is a robust building designer and a natural leader with an extensive background as a former carpenter and general contractor.

Growing up in a rural area of Quebec, she enjoyed helping her dad and uncles build houses for family members. At twelve years old, in 1979, she drafted her parents’ house and got the municipal stamp of approval. The building inspector, in disbelief, had to meet her…
When he came around for inspections, he would find her mixing concrete for the cinder block foundation or on the roof installing trusses with her older sister.
Nathalie was the first woman in Quebec, at age 29, to get her Journeyman Carpenter Certification (Red Seal Equivalent), amongst many other achievements.

Her passion for house design and involvement kept growing. In 2012, she went back to College and upgraded her drafting skills from traditional pen and paper to computer-aided drafting, graduating top of her class with a Building Technologist Degree. Because Nathalie understands what information builders and framers need to be efficient, she always delivers clear and concise plans that go beyond what is simply required.

When she is not working, you can find her caring for her laying hens, riding her motorcycle, or spending time with friends and family.
